19. The Broken Time

"We've arrived on Hoth." Bogore said as he woke up Ravi and Evangeline who fell asleep due to exhaustion.

"Hoth. Of course Darren would be on Hoth."

"Let's go." Bogore opened the cargo doors."

Outside they were greeted by the harsh cold winds of the ice planet. Not far from the ship a small house stood tall, yet buried in the snow. It seemed made out of the outline of a cave with a single metal door gleaming in the light of the planet's moon.

They approached the metal door and Bogore knocked. An old man's voice came from inside.

  "I'm on my way Bogore!"

"Is that Darren?" Ravi wondered after hearing the strange yet familiar voice.

The door opened and there stood Darran Ratta. However his long brown hairs were now grey and wrinkles outlined his face.

"Just like Avery." Evangeline nudged Ravi.

“So the time is finally here.” Darren smiled awkwardly. He gestured for them to come inside.

As they entered the house Ravi noticed it resembled the cave he found Darren in at one time. A while ago.

“It is the same cave where i found my father’s message.” Darren said as he looked at Ravi. He seemed smaller now that he is so old.

“What happened Darren. You and Avery are...”

“Old?” Darren smiled and sat down and gestured towards a stew. “Help yourselves. Sit down and listen to what i have to say.”

“They were there. Just like you predicted.” The Fire Skeleton sat down, kneeling in front of the throne of the great leader.

“In the end it was all an estimated guess. But the Force never disappoints.” Overlord Zoldius pulled his robes aside and watched the kneeling skeleton. “He escaped didn’t he?”

“I regret to inform you that, yes, indeed he did.”

“I expected as much. That’s kind of his thing. Him and i.”

“Where does he come from? I thought that Thornston girl was the last Jedi.” Duban stood back up.

“She was meant to be just that. But then i felt a disturbance in the Force. A disturbance I've felt times before. Every time i met this Ravi-Idej. Honestly our paths seem almost linked. That he would follow me all the way here.”

“He said something to me. That he knew me.”

Zoldius turned around as he was scared for just a fleeting moment.

  “Overlord?”

“Never mind me.” Zoldius said and sat onto his throne. Thinking about something.

“How could he have known me. I never met him before. I know every Jedi that once existed. Every Sith or Force user in general. His name never made it into any records.” Skelly casually continued his question.

“I do not know Jedi Hunter. You are not to ask these question. You are to do your job! Now get out.” Zoldius gestured for Duban to leave and he did as ordered.

“Time is broken. That is why i am so old.” Darren told Ravi and Evangeline who were all ear.”

“But then why were Daniel and Cameron the same age they’ve always been. Heck, even Bogore hasn’t changed a bit.” Ravi gestured to his friend.

“Everything is out of sync. Broken. Time and reality don’t make sense anymore. Nothing makes sense anymore since Zoldius became Overlord.”

“So you remember how it all went down?” Ravi became extra curious now.

“No. Not at all.” Darren laughed as he saw their confused reaction. “I may appear old and having lived an entire life. Yet i have no memory of years passed. No one does. That is because this timeline was only brought to life yesterday. No one knows though. Only i, you, Evangeline and Zoldius and his companions.”

“But how?” Ravi almost dropped his stew. Evangeline pulled him back into his chair.

“The Stone of Time. The one Zoldius used at your wedding, Evangeline.” He looked at her with remorse. “That stone is the heart of this timeline. However it created a force field around it to protect its user. In this case Zoldius. I believe you may have seen this.”

“I... i believe we have.” Ravi looked at Evangeline who nodded. “We were so close to Zoldius. We stood practically in the same spot.”

“I was lucky enough to be caught in the middle. My body and soul now exists in both timelines. It caused a great strain on my body and aged me rapidly, however i do retain most of my memories. The same happened to Avery. The other were not so lucky. Because they were caught outside they are now completely different people in this timeline. Even you Bogore.” He nodded towards his friend who just scuffed.

“They remember nothing?” Evangeline asked with worry in her voice.

“The old timeline. Our timeline, still exists. However it is ‘paused’ or ‘on hold’ or whatever you wanna call it. The longer this timeline remains, the faster the original one digresses and dies out.” Darren’s voice became more serious.

“Is there a way to go back. To turn this all around? My best friend has become a Jedi Hunter. I can’t bear to witness that again. He stole my padawan from me.”

“I was wondering where Avery went. Skelly has her...” He looked down at his feet. “Then i fear it is too late for her.”

“Please don’t say that.” Ravi became anxious and Evangeline took his hand into her’s.

“I don’t want to Ravi. But my wife and i knew something like this might happen. We didn’t fear it because there is still a way to go back.”

  “Wife?” Evangeline asked.

“Oh yeah of course. You two don’t know.” He turned his attention to Ravi. “Avery and i are married in this timeline. I hope you don’t mind.”

Ravi was taken a back by all the information that just got dumped onto him. But he managed to create a smile and feel a slither of hope after hearing those words. “That is wonderful Darren.” He couldn’t help but get up and congratulate the old Wiz-Man.

“Now. More pressing matters.” Darren gestured for Ravi to sit down and for Bogore to come to him.

Bogore opened a holographic display which showed a planet with a crystalline ecosystem.

“This is Skitor. This is where Daisy Muran, your sister-” He looked at Evangeline. “-has begun a rebellion against the Overlord.”

  “Resistance!” Bogore scuffed annoyingly.

“Whatever you wanna call it, it’s all the same.” He then looked Ravi straight in the eyes and the Jedi could feel the seriousness in the words that came next. “Please go there. Aid them into fighting Zoldius. They know of the Time Stone and are planning to retrieve it. They can’t do it without your help. Their hope is fleeting.”

Not much later Evangeline and Ravi were packing up again and Bogore was starting the engines of the ship.

“I know it is much to take in, my Captain.” Darren come to stand next to Ravi using his cane. “But this might help you.”

Darren held out a light saber. The design struck Ravi immediately. “Avery made this didn’t she?” Ravi smiled a little bit to see the skills his padawan has acquired over the years.

“For when you and Evangeline would arrive. Take it with you. Show it to Daisy and she will know i sent you.”

Ravi took the saber. “Thank you Darren. I will make this right. I promise i will.” Ravi was about to step outside but remembered one thing. “Skelly. He called me by my name. Even though he had no idea who i was.”

“He did? He must’ve connected with the original timeline there for a moment.” Darren stroke his grey beard, looking puzzled.

“So i could get the old Skelly out of there?”

“Perhaps. I do not know. But i think it is all the more reason to safe us. The timeline is disappearing. If we don’t get out hands on this Stone, then Zoldius will remain Overlord forever!”

Ravi nodded with confidence and a few minutes later Bogore took off with the ship with him and Evangeline aboard.

“To Skitor!” Bogore yelled and punched it to hyperspace.

Duban Varr walked through the hallways of the Overlord’s palace. He was deep in thought and almost hit Natalie.

“Watch it, Jedi Hunter. You know for someone in such a high position you don’t really pay attention do you.”

“Natalie. Being a pain in the ass again?”

“If i’m such a pain, why would the Overlord appoint me as his personal butcher.” She held up her hands covered in blood.

  “Information gathering i presume?”

“That. And little bit of fun for myself. Gotta stay sane while killing off rebel scum.” She tapped her left temple and left some blood on her skin. “I heard you captured a Jedi. Want me to get some information out of her?”

“No. Not yet. I know she can still be of use to me.”

“Then what’s bothering you?” Natalie looked at him curious and annoyed.

“Another Jedi revealed itself. Somehow i can’t stopping thinking about our meeting. Everything about him seemed so familiar. So true. Yet I've never met the man before.”

  Natalie frowned.

“I don’t even know why i am telling you this.” Duban pushed her aside and walked off.

“Just call me when you’re done with that Thornston girl.”

Unknown to Natalie, Ragnarok was in the back of the hall listening to their conversation. He quickly headed towards the Overlord’s throne room and kneels.

“It seems the Skeleton indeed possesses some memories left from the other timeline. Should i eliminate him now?” Ragnarok already put his hand on his saber.

“No need for that right now.” Zoldius watched his subordinate. “Let’s see how this works out in the end.

The ship arrived at Skitor and Bogore announced their arrival.

“So how did Darren know all of that? Everything about that Stone?” Evangeline asked Bogore.

“It’s old wizard magic. From his ancestors. It took some digging but eventually we found records about it. At least that’s what i think happened. I can’t really recall my memories properly.” Bogore said as he started the landing sequence and tapped some buttons. “There. I’ve let them know we are coming. Be careful though. They can be trigger happy if they don’t like the look of things.”

The boarding ramp opened up and as the smoke cleared Evangeline and Ravi saw a small base with only two hangers at most. Out to greet them came a small group of people. Two of them with familiar faces. Haracus and Daisy.

"Bogore didn't say anything about visitors." Haracus pulled out his blasters.

"And i don't recall you being so aggressive against your friends." Evangeline gestured to herself and Ravi. Haracus fired a warning shot at her feet and she comically jumped aside.

"Different Haracus. Different everyone, remember?" Whispered to her.

"I kind of... forgot for a moment." Evangeline said and smiled awkwardly.

"Hold your fire! They are friends of Avery and Darren." Bogore stormed outside with his hands in the air. "They've come to help us."

"And where is Avery now?" Daisy asked with a stern, commanding voice.

"We ran into Duban. She got caught..."

The small group of rebels started chatting among each other and Haracus looked worried at Daisy.

"Our greatest asset is gone. This day couldn't get any better." Daisy's voice became more arrogant.

"It's gonna get a whole lot better once I've told you everything." Bogore smiled and winked at her.

They entered the rebel base and what caught Ravi's eye immediately was the similar design of the hallways compared to the Redemption.

"I see you have taken a liking to our architecture?" Daisy came to stand next to him and Evangeline.

"It reminds of me of something dear to me."

"Daisy..." It seemed Evangeline was cautious this time. Probably in fear of getting shot at again.

"You know my name? I suppose Darren told you."

"Actually you and i are sisters." Evangeline quickly ducked to cover behind Ravi.

It was silent for a moment until Daisy scuffed, crossed her arms and began walking into a large white room with giant computers. "I suppose that could be true. In another timeline i guess."

Ravi took a good look around. Once again the design of the room looked eerily similar to the Redemption.

"If Darren sent he probably expects that you two can replace Avery in our fight against Zoldius." Daisy sat down at a table and gestured for the others to do the same.

"He only told us what we needed to know. About the Time Stone." Ravi and Evangeline sat down. Bogore silently left the room.

"So you are aware of the Time Stone. Well i guess we are off to a good start. Here i thought the situation was going to be hopeless."

"Excuse me sis...uhm... Daisy, but we don't have much time. Darren told us the original timeline is already vanishing rapidly."

"Strange isn't it. The concept of time. That it can be so manipulated." Daisy stood back up again and pressed a few buttons on a keyboard. "I'll show you the master architect and beginner of this rebellion."

A hole in the floor opened and out came a small round plateau followed by a whole bunch of wires. On the plateau stood Cyborg's head, connected to the jungle of wires.

"Cyborg!" Ravi jolted from his chair and ran towards his friend. "What... what has happened to you...?"

The Cyborg remained silent for a moment and for a while the computer beeps were the only thing in the room. Suddenly the head spoke up.

"Facial recognition: Error. Should i raise the alarm m'am?"

  "No need for it."

  "I compute."

Ravi was a loss for words. Never before had Sarbarel sounded so robotic and empty. It was as if the man he once saved was now completely gone.

"Sarbarel Pheon. It is i, your captain and friend Ravi-Idej. You probably don't know me because of the messed up timeline or whatever made you like this."

"My data or memory banks do not have any files on one named: Ravi-idej. Is this your real name. Please try again."

Ravi lowered his head and began to choke on his words. "And you were just beginning to regain your emotions. You were so close to be being your old self again." Ravi hit the plateau in anger. "Goddammit no one is safe in god forsaken time! We are best friends Sarbarel! And i will do anything i can to fix this!" Ravi turned around and stormed outside. Evangeline followed him.

"Leave them be." Cyborg told Daisy as she was about to go after them. "My scanners indicate truth in his emotion. Somehow, one way or another, he has knowledge that even i do no possess."

In the hallway Evangeline caught up to Ravi. "I'm sorry i broke down. I lost my cool." The Jedi apologized to the princess.

"I'm surprised you could keep your head cool for so long." She put her hand on his shoulder and leaned a bit closer. "This is going to sound very Jedi-like, but my advice is to just let it out at a certain point. Just not do it here. We still need to convince my sis- Daisy, that she needs us."

"When ever has our relationship been Jedi-like."

"Well, it's not really something we need to worry about in this timeline." She smiled at him.

"I suppose some good came out of it."

Ayase walked down a set of stairs that lead to a hidden altar beneath the palace. There Zoldius sits meditating with the Stone of Time.

"Still working on that thing?" She asked the Overlord who slowly rose back up.

"The more i control, the closer we get to the dream."

"Don't we already have that dream though?"

Zoldius turned around and looked at her. "Not entirely. We're close but there are still some that defy me. I can't let that happen."

"It's that blasted Jedi isn't it?"

"When has it not been him?"

Evangeline and Ravi were both given a room to sleep in by Daisy. However Ravi was unable to fall asleep and decided to talk a walk outside.

As he watched the stars he suddenly noticed something in the corner of his eye. It's Bogore and it seemed like he got a board his ship. However something seemed off and Ravi decided to follow him.

As Ravi entered the ship without any noise to alert his friend he could hear voices coming from one of the rooms. He silently snuck around the corridors to the source. He could Bogore talking to a voice that sounded... holographic.

He got closer and recognized the voice. "Skelly!" He thought to himself and peeked around the door frame.

There he saw Bogore talking to The Fire Skeleton.

"You've brought the Jedi to the rebellion!" Ravi had never heard Skelly so threatening.

"I had to bring him here! I couldn't just destroy my facade."

"You could've brought him to the Overlord instead."

"He would've felt his Force Signature!"

The Fire Skeleton remained quite for a moment and watched the man in front of him. "I suppose you were very useful in capturing Thornston girl. However i don't think you are qualified enough to help me again."

"What does that mean!?" Bogore became frustrated. The Fire Skeleton gestured for him to turn around and there stood Ravi in the doorway, light saber hilt in hand.

"Seems future business with the Overlord has been declined." Duban told Bogore.

"No wait! Please, i did everything right. I brought the Jedi girl to you! I've told you all i know about the Rebellion!"

Ravi force pushed Bogore to the side against the wall. He stepped forward and faced the hologram of The Fire Skeleton.

"Jedi scum." The walking corpse immediately called him.

"You said my name. Before. Back on that planet." Ravi was much more softspoken.

"I don't know what you are talking about."

"When you took my Padawan away from me. You said my name. You remembered."

"Padawan? That old woman? I think you've got it confused. You must be the Padawan and she the Master."

  "Maybe. In this timeline perhaps..."

"You don't make sense, Jedi." Ravi noticed the Skeleton got seemingly interested though.

"You may not remember it. But we were once friends. You and i."

"Friends!? Me with a Jedi. I hunt Jedi incase you forgot."

"This version of you. But not the one i know. The one that called out my name."

Ravi noticed Bogore trying to crawl away so he used the force to pull him back to his last position. Ravi ignited his saber and aimed it at Bogore. "Don't run now. You'll make things worse."

"Your name..." The Fire Skeleton's voice was now much more soft spoken too, yet with a hint of distraught. "Ravi... isn't it?"

"You do remember." Ravi looked up.

"Why? Why does no one remember a thing, but i do?"

"You must be stuck between streams. There can't be another explanation."

Bogore made a second attempt to get out but Ravi just moved his light saber a little bit and he was frozen in place once again.

Suddenly voices came from within the ship. "They're here." Bogore whispered.

Ravi took his comm link and jammed it into the computer that projected Skelly's hologram.

"What are you doing?" The Skeleton seemed confused.

"Given you the data to reach me. Not the location of the Rebellion, just my personal data. I have a feeling we will speak again soon."

The Skeleton stood confused but eventually nodded. The hologram then disappeared but not before the rebels that arrived could catch a glimpse of it.

In the doorway Daisy, Haracus and even Zorrus appeared holding out their blasters.

"What is happening here? Bogore?" Zorrus asked as he say the man laying on the ground, sweating alot.

"Was that a hologram of The Fire Skeleton? Did you contact him!?" Haracus's voice became loud and aggressive. He walked over to Bogore and lifted him in the air by his shirt. "You are a spy you piece of shit!?"

"Haracus put him down." Daisy commanded.

He dropped Bogore immediately and the man coughed. His cough turned into a wicked laughter. "Fine. You've caught me. I was a fool anyway for believing that walking bone-field would keep his promise. You with me what you want."

Daisy then ordered Bogore to be arrested and Zorrus came forward to handcuff him. As Zorrus past Ravi the Jedi smiled at his friend but the man didn't seem to recognize him. Ravi expected as much and just shook his head silently.

After Haracus and Zorrus had taken Bogore away Daisy turned to Ravi. "Well, i guess i can trust you more then i originally expected."

"We just want to help. To get our hands on that Stone and fix everything."

"Maybe i should be more open to allies. We have none as it is. Not even within our own ranks." Ravi knew she was mentioning Bogore.

"Evangeline and i, we come from the original timeline. We know Zoldius better then anyone here. We can help!"

Daisy crossed her arms, closed her eyes only to open them again and smile. "I welcome you to our Rebellion then. You and your wife."

"Oh she isn't-" Ravi couldn't finish his sentence or Daisy had already left the room. He rubbed his neck and then took his comm link. "Please Skelly, i know you are still in there. Contact me."

Duban sat down on the bed in his quarters. He couldn't stop but think about that Jedi. "Ravi..." He muttered. "Where have i heard that before..." He pressed some buttons on his comm link and there they were. The contact information the Jedi said he would provide.

Then something entered Skelly's mind. Something the Jedi has said. "Padawan..."

The next day the Rebellion began discussing their ongoing efforts against Zoldius's armies and also introduced Ravi and Evangeline as new allies.

They sat in a brightly lit meeting room with white benches surrounding a spherical table on wich a large hologram projector is based.

"Zoldius's Palace can be found right here. On the planet of Cormellia." Daisy said and increased the zoom of the hologram, bringing the planet into clear view. Ravi could feel Evangeline's hand squeeze his after that sentence.

"His forces are outstanding. Immeasurable compared to ours. If we are to strike, and we will, we must do it swift, clean and precise." Zorrus spoke up and managed to get the attention of many soldiers in the room. "Our only problem is getting in and finding the location of the Stone of Time."

"Zoldius's underlings don't know about the existence of this Stone or that they are caught in a timeline created by the Overlord himself. So it is likely for us to assume that the Stone is hidden somewhere deep within the Palace." Daisy zoomed even further in on the hologram, bringing the palace into view.

"We could launch a full planetary assault. However, we need to one hundred percent sure we are successful. An assault of that magnitude will deprive us of all our resources." Zorrus explained.

"And what about an infiltration mission?" Evangeline spoke up.

"We've considered that. However the changes of getting caught are too great. Natalie Shaw, the Overlord's personal butcher, is a master in getting information through torture. No one so far has been able to hold out long during one of her 'play times'." The words hit Ravi hard and his stomach turned.

"Last night however, we made our first victory." Haracus walked in and got everyone's attention immediately. "Speaking of torture, i just got back from Bogore's cell."

Ravi shot up but Evangeline immediately pulled him back down when people looked at them weird.

  "Evangeline!"

  "It's not our Bogore remember?"

"Yeah but-" Ravi stopped mid sentence and gradually accepted what he just heard. He never meant to harm his friend. But is this is even the Bogore that is his friend? "He would never betray me right?"

"Bogore, the traitor, spoke up about the Palace. That there is one weakness in the structure. Beneath the throne room lie the dungeons. There is a pipeline in the sewers that leads directly to it. We could enter through there. However security is tight."

"Can't we use Bogore to get in?" A soldier asked.

"His cover has been blown. They wouldn't believe it."

"This is a difficult matter. We now know a way in. The problem is: how do we get there?" Daisy rubbed her chin, deep in thoughts.

The meeting concluded not long after without a finding a solution. Ravi and Evangeline retreated to their quarters.

"This is going to take longer then i expected." Evangeline sighed as he dropped herself on the bed.

"Couldn't you have led the party inside. If anyone knows the palace it is you."

"No. That wasn't my palace. It looked much more different. Uneven and unbalanced." Evangeline shook her head.

"I had a feeling. Otherwise you would've spoken up." Ravi picked up his comm link and examined it.

"What are you doing?" Evangeline seemed suspicious.

"I talked to Skelly last night. When i arrested Bogore."

"You did what..." Evangeline jumped off the bed and walked over to him.

"He remembered me again! It must've been just like Darren and Avery. He's got to be caught between two streams."

"Ravi please. Everything is different here. Just accept it."

"Not while the original timeline remains. Not while my friends are not their normal selves!"

Evangeline put her hands on his chest. "Haven't you noticed one thing?"

"What? Noticed what? Evangeline Skelly could call any minute. He might be his old self again."

"In this timeline-" She looked him deep in his eyes. "-there is no marriage Ravi. We can be together."

Ravi was taken aback for a moment and slightly pushed her away. "I-i... what?"

"It occurred to me last night. We are together and there is no one to judge. No Jedi Order, no set marriage." Evangeline grabbed his hand.

  "Evangeline. Have you lost it?"

"You're in love with me right?"

"Of course i am! But my friends. This world. Zoldius!" Ravi turned to face her again. "I'm not a true Jedi if i don't save everyone!"

"You've never been a true Jedi!" Evangeline shouted and immediately wrapped her hand around her mouth.

The shock hit Ravi too and he began thinking about all the things he has done that no Jedi is ever allowed to do. Fall in love. Let his emotions take control. Brutal murders and losing the sight of peace. He grabbed the ledge of the bed and felt his head hurt.

"Ravi?" Evangeline's voice was filled with remorse.

"It's okay..." He waved at her to give him some room. "... you might just be right..."

  "I'm sorry..."

Ravi gathered his strength and walked up to her. "This timeline is not our real timeline. Just don't let it get to you."

"Then why are you letting it get to you?"

Ravi backed away again after hearing those words. "What do you mean?"

Tears began welling up in Evangeline's eyes. "It's not our Skelly. Don't you get it!? Stop holding on to something that isn't there."

"Then why did you bring up the fact of staying together!"

"I don't know what to do anymore okay." She really grabbed his attention now. "Daisy is not my sister, Haracus is not himself! Your friends are not themselves but i too am trying to keep my cool."

A silence fell in the room and both stood there for a who knows how long without saying anything. Then Ravi's comm link began beeping.

The two looked at each other. "Please don't take that." Evageline asked. Ravi hesitated but eventually walked outside.

He walked to the room where Cyborg's head still stood connected to the computer.

"New ally of Rebellion. Ravi-Idej." He said as Ravi got closer.

  "Not now Pheon."

"Sarbarel." Ravi immediately stopped in his tracks. "Sarbarel Pheon is my real name." said the Cyborg.

Ravi walked over to him and looked him straight in his robotic eyes. "How?"

"You told me. You gave me a name where no one else would."

"Does it matter though? You are a computer."

"For your emotional reaction during our meeting-" Cyborg's robotic eyes moved to look at Ravi more sincerely. "-i figured i was more then just that."

Ravi's mouth fell open. "Y-you're coming back buddy"

  "Back?"

"The Pheon i knew. I can see you much more clear now."

  The comm link beeped again.

"A message?" The Cyborg wondered. Seemed he had gotten curious.

"I probably shouldn't tell you who it is. You might think i'm a traitor." Ravi looked at the comm link again, its light going on with every beep and then fading again. "I suppose i need to make a choice now Pheon."

  "Can i assist you?"

"You already have." Ravi smiled and left the room. He found a secure location and pressed the commlink. A small hologram of Skelly appeared.

"You were not lying i see." The Jedi hunter began speaking.

"You contacted me again." Ravi's voice fell soft again.

"To be honest. You've put me on edge Jedi. I am willing to set up a meeting." The Fire Skeleton crossed his arms behind his back. "I will bring your Padawan with me."

Ravi fell silent. Thinking about what he should do next. Wondering whether or not he is making the right choice.

  "Hello?"

"Where do we meet?" The Jedi then asked the hunter.

That night Ravi went back to Cyborg.

  "Back again. Master Idej?"

"Just leaving a gift before i leave." Ravi said and took his saber hilt in hand.

"Leaving so soon? Should i inform Daisy?"

"No." Ravi said immediately. "Don't. She doesn't have to know."

"But what if she asks?" Cyborg looked at the Jedi tinkering with his saber. He noticed Ravi now wore a black cape with a hood and many gadgets hanging from a belt. His Jedi attire was replaced with an outfit that would normally be worn by a soldier of the Rebellion. A cloth piece hang around his hips.

"Tell her-" Ravi opened a secret compartment in his hilt and out fell a small computer chip. "Tell her i'm doing it for the Rebellion."

He left the chip next to Cyborg's head and left the room.

Avoiding suspicion he entered he walked outside towards Bogore's ship. However he felt something and turned around. His eyes darting all over the place. "Some one sees me?" He thought to himself. He then looked up the building and saw Evangeline standing at a large window. She watched directly at him.

He stood there for a moment, looking at her too.

Then he stopped and boarded the ship. Evangeline watched him take off and leave the system.

Not much later Ravi warped out of hyperspace and arrived at the planet of Daxxus Prime. A grey, distopian planet that was once the Skeleton's home world. He entered the atmosphere and landed the ship near a rusty factory. He and Skelly had chosen to meet here.

On the other side of the building he noticed a small red ship. "Skelly must be here already." He though to himself and entered the building.

Crooked chains hang from the ceiling and water and oil was leaking everywhere. Some floors seem to have collapsed under their own weight. Ravi lowered his hood and felt the water dripping from the ceiling with his hand. It was ice cold, such as the air entering the building.

He was about to call out for the Skeleton but then felt movement in the Force. He followed it and entered a large courtyard with steel bridges rusted away and remains of old machines. In the middle of the room stood The Fire Skeleton, wearing a thick high tech set or armour that Ravi had never seen before. It intimidated him a bit.

"So. Here we are." The Fire Skeleton said as Ravi walked towards him, his footsteps making the water on the ground splash around slightly.

"I'm just glad you called me." Ravi stopped and began his conversation with his old friend.

"I had to. You were ripping me apart. From the inside."

"It's not me. It's Zoldius and the timeline he created."

"When i called your name. I did so unknowingly. Yet at the same time. I did." Duban's voice felt strange. As if he was trying to sound compassionate, yet angry.

"I believe you are caught between time streams. Just like many others. Including me and Evangeline."

"And the Jedi girl." Duban's intimidating voice came back.

"Avery. My Padawan. The one you took from me. She is a friend of yours. Where is she now?"

"I promised it'd bring her." The Fire Skeleton pulled out an object wrapped in cloth. He unwrapped it and revealed it to be Avery's light saber. However something was off. It's covered in blood.

"What have you done." Ravi's heart began pounding in his chest.

"I haven't done a thing." Skelly dropped the saber on the ground. "Natalie however, she hasn't had this much fun in a long time." He stomped onto the saber with iron boots and crushed it. Some sparks jumped off when he raised his foot again.

Ravi didn't know what to say. All he felt was pain. Pain and anger.

"I wanted to be certain you'd get here. Making promises to a Jedi always lures them out of hiding."

Ravi watched the broken light saber and felt like his chest was being ripped open.

"First rule of hunting a Jedi Master." The Fire Skeleton caught Ravi's attention. "Hurt their Padawans."

He had it now. Ravi ignited his purple saber and the light reflected in the water created a strange glow in the room. Skelly also grabbed his lance and set it ablaze, lighting up the room even more.

Both took up a battle stance and slowly walked a circle around eachother.

"I can tell you she greatly cried-" The Fire Skeleton couldn't finish his sentence as Ravi lunged at him and they clashed weapons.

"Don't speak of her!" Skelly pushed him back adn they clashed weapons several times after.

Ravi pushed the lance down to the ground but Duban managed to pull it back and Ravi's saber scrapped the floor leaving a saber cut between a water puddle.

"Rule two of hunting Jedi." The Fire Skeleton stomped on the ground and braced himself. "Toy with their emotions."

"Aaaggh!!" Ravi screamed at the top of his lungs and ran towards the Jedi Hunter with his saber high in the air. Skelly activated the jet pack upon his back and rammed himself into Ravi, pushing them both through a brick wall.

Ravi felt himself roll over the floor and when he landed on his back he saw the underside of Skelly's boot coming down to crush him. He quickly used the Force to push the Skeleton into the concrete ceiling and rolled to the side to avoid the body and debris.

Skelly quickly recovered and raised his arm out, revealing a small blaster outlet on his glove. He shot at Ravi who quickly deflected the laser bolt.

As the smoke cleared Skelly saw Ravi's face. Never before had he seen such anger. Only from the Overlord himself.

"Die!" The Fire Skeleton shouted and rammed his iron glove onto the floor and lit up the puddles of oil around them. Ravi just managed to jumped away from the fire sea. During his jump however he was caught by Skelly mid air who throw him to the other side of the room.

Ravi quickly managed to land on his feet before hitting a concrete pillar and saw the Skeleton attacking him with his lance. He quickly dodged the attacks and the fire lance scraped on the pillar behind him.

Ravi then moved his saber over lance and cut off a piece of Skelly's iron glove. The Skeleton immediately took a step back.

"I came here thinking you remembered who were." Ravi spat at his old friend.

"And i came here to do my job!" The Skeleton pressed on a button on his working glove and a two sentry units hanging from the ceiling began to open fire on Ravi.

"Great, he's rigged the whole place." Ravi thought to himself as he deflected the onslaught of laser bolts. When he finally saw and opening he used the force to stop the bolts mid air and send them back flying to the sentries, destroying them. However he then felt the force of Skelly punching him in the stomach. He was lifted off his feet and fell on the cold wet floor.

Skelly once again attempted to crush him on the ground but this time with his proper glove. Ravi however ignited his saber in a rush made a cut in the armour.

"Graahh!"He heard Skelly scream as he stumbled around in his heavy armour.

As the Skelly turned around to face Ravi the Jedi already lunged at him and forced him to the ground with a powerful wave of Force Push. Skelly felt himself being crushed between the floor and the power of the Force. The longer Ravi went on, the more the floor began to tear apart. Skelly tried to punch the Jedi but wasn't able to reach him.

Ravi screamed in anger and used the Force to send Skelly flying through the concrete floor, leaving a trail of broken stone behind. Parts of his armour were damaged once more.

As he stumbled to his feet he noticed the Jedi still standing in his previous position. He is breathing heavily.

"You are stronger then i anticipated." Skelly taunted his opponent as he ripped a plate of broken iron of his armour. "I can now she that she must've been your Padawan." Skelly tried to stall for time and looked around his surroundings. He noticed the floor beginning the crack open.

He smiled a wicked smile and pressed a button on his suit. "Maybe you'd like to hear her one last time."

As Ravi tried to catch his breath he heard the screams of his Padawan echo throughout the room. Screams of pain and suffering. He wasn't sure but it was almost as if he could Natalie laughing in the background.

"These are recordings of her precious last moments. As a Master i figured you'd want hear them."

Never in his life had Ravi felt so taunted and emotionally abused.

  He didn't care anymore.

  The lightsaber ignited.

The screams echoed through his ears.

  His whole body hurt.

  His heart began to break.

A step in the cold water.

  A building strength.

Never before had Ravi felt so much pain... and so much power.

"Rule three of hunting Jedi." The Fire Skeleton readied himself for what ever attack comes next. "A little bit of Dark Side won't hurt."

Ravi let out a battle cry and used the force to launch himself towards the position of his enemy. He held the saber out in front of him, ready to strike.

The Skeleton used his iron boots to impact the floor and it gave way. It collapsed and pulled the Jedi down with it. Skelly himself didn't fall as he ignited his jet pack. He laughed maniacally until he felt something heavy attach to his leg.

He looked down and saw Ravi hanging there with a small cable wrapped around the Skeleton't leg. In frustration Skelly began kicking his leg around, hoping the Jedi would fall off.

Ravi remained stern and even managed retract some of the cable back into its compartment on his glove. As he reached the leg of his enemy he prepared his light saber for a devastating blow.

In a panic Skelly shut his jet pack off and both fell to the ground. Ravi's light saber barely missed his life support as both fell into a larger puddle of water. Often small rocks from the broken floor above them would land next to them.

Both stumbled to their feet and looked at each other furiously. Both noticed they had their weapons knocked out of their hands. Ravi saw his saber in the puddle and used the force to fly it over to him. Skelly quickly shot it out of the air with a fire bolt and the saber hilt flew to the back of the room in the dark.

Ravi turned around and he and Skelly both launched at each other. They pushed eachother to the ground. Skelly punches Ravi in the face several times, opening wounds and beginning a bleeding. Ravi used the force to push Skelly against the wall and hold him there. With his fist he pulled up a significant amount of Force power and punched the Skeleton through the wall to the outside surroundings of the factory.

Skelly stumbled back up and used his jet pack to immediately fly back inside towards Ravi's location. Just when he thought he would hit the Jedi, Ravi used his quick reflexes to dodge the oncoming attack and grab the Skeleton's cape. He began twirling him around and when enough force was build up he let him go. Skelly was send flying in a old machine and dented it greatly upon impact. Oil began leaking out.

Ravi ran to the corner where his saber fell but couldn't see in the dark. He closed his eyes and used the Force to find it. Not long after it landed in the palm of his hand and he ignited it. The purple glow lit up the corner and as he turned around Skelly came at swinging an iron bar to his face.

Ravi quickly managed to cut the before it hit him but Skelly saw an opening and created a flame in his and burned Ravi's upper leg. The Jedi screamed in pain and jumped backwards. This however was a stupid mistake as he felt a jolt of pain shoot through his leg upon landing. He managed to keep himself standing but Skelly noticed the twitches of pain.

"We could go on like this for hours!" Duban yelled and threw what he left of the iron bar on the ground. "Surrender to the Overlord and accept your fate. The Jedi are gone."

He expected the Jedi to respond but nothing happened. Ravi just stood there with his saber in hand. Due to the poor lighting Skelly couldn't see his eyes and got a little shock when the Jedi started laughing.

"I'm not doing this for the Jedi. You made it personal." Ravi's eyes came into the light and they were mad like a rabid dog. A faint red circle and yellow tint glossing over his irises. "It's like you said. A little bit of Dark Side won't hurt."

Ravi launched himself with the Force again and kicked the shocked Skelly through and iron door. The Skeleton fell down a set of stairs, occasionally hitting another. As he landed on the ground a purple light got increasingly closer and he quickly managed to dodge Ravi's attack. Ravi didn't hesitate however and swung his saber to the Skeleton's head, almost cutting it off.

Skelly ducked in time and the sparks of the saber hitting several bars fell on him. Ravi attempted to stab him now that he was down but Skelly quickly activated his jet pack and broke through the wall behind him. He leveled himself and quickly flew back to the courtyard where the battle began.

In the distance he could hear some his traps go off and being destroyed by a light saber.

He landed in the courtyard and picked up Avery's crushed saber. He knocked it around a few times. "Please work, please work." The saber malfunctioned two times but then ignited itself fully. Only the green saber worked however.

A loud clanging noise came from behind and some machine gun sentry's he had set up slid crumbled over the floor. Ravi landed on the floor with a loud bang, making several cracks around himself.

Ravi swung his blade around and attacked the Skeleton again. Their sabers clashed and he began making raw and unbalanced swings. Skelly was able to hold it however. The Skeleton used his jet pack to reach a set of catwalks above them and Ravi used the Force to jump high enough.

They clashed sabers several times in the middle of the catwalk. Sparks darting around everywhere and the heat of the lightsabers made Ravi sweat like crazy. Parts of his cloth were also cut, revealing small wounds that let some blood fall at his feet.

With every swing Skelly could feel part of his iron armour come lose and often pieces fall off. Never before had he fought a Jedi with such raw strength.

Eventually the two got in saber lock and stared at each other with hate and anger. Skelly unlocked and raised the saber above his head, hoping to strike down but Ravi used the force and he was sent flying through a window behind him. He landed on an assembly line and Ravi ran at him not long after.

The Fire Skeleton activated his jet pack to fly away but Ravi threw his saber at him and the jet pack got sliced.

Skelly felt his body being jolted around in the air as the jet pack malfunctioned and Ravi landed on him, pushing him down to the ground even further. However they hit another assembly line and now both fell without control. Ravi used the force to soften the impact but still hit a mountain of barrels quite hard. He screamed in pain.

Skelly crashed on the ground and the glass of his helmet shattered. He quickly took off the jet pack and threw to the side where it exploded and created a large fire. Some burning debris was flung towards his and Ravi's position.

"You are a madman! You said we were friends in some other life! Well i don't believe it for a moment!" Skelly's frustration and fear had reached its peak and he screamed at the Jedi who stumbled to pick himself back up.

Ravi just looked at Skelly and felt a cut on his lip bleeding out.

"Maybe we did know each other once. But if you were anything like you are now. I understand i pushed out of my memories."

Ravi managed to get his footing back and ignite his saber. Skelly just shook his head and sighed. "You won't stop will you. Fine!" He noticed the large amount of barrels behind Ravi. "Then i guess i'll have to kill you!"

Duban made a fire bolt in his hand and fire it at the barrels behind Ravi just when the Jedi began another charge at him. The barrels exploded and the whole factory was soon covered in a sea of fire.

Skelly got back up after the large shock wave and looked around. All he saw was fire. Flames twice his size. "Wich way is out?" He thought to himself and quickly took off his burning cape.

Suddenly Ravi came out of the fire sea and attacked him with his light saber. The surprised Skeleton was able to block the attacked his proper glove which was now cut. Ravi was about to strike again until a piece of the ceiling collapsed above them and was about to crush them.

Before he could react Duban felt himself lifted off his feet and flung out of the sea of fire. The heat vanished and he landed on the rocky surface and a patch of grass.

He stumbled back up and watched the building burn down to a crisp. He began looking around for signs of life and eventually saw a silhouette emerge from the flames. The heat distorted his view but as the figure got closer he saw it was Ravi.

His cloths were all ripped and black from the fire that burned small patches. He threw his cape and hood to the ground as they burned out. His face is covered in blood and ash and his knees looked burned and bleeding. Still he managed to walk towards the Skeleton.

Skelly had no more energy. He was done with this Jedi. He let Ravi walk up to him and towering over him. The noticed the purple saber still active.

Ravi didn't say a word. He just watched the man before him. The man that killed his Padawan and all the other Jedi. A disciple of Zoldius. An agent of evil.

  "Ravi..." Skelly whispered.

The Jedi raised his light saber high in the air and then brought it down.

Skelly prepared for the finishing blow but it never came. He opened his eyes and saw Ravi down on his knees, with his saber on the ground. Smoke still emerged from the opening. He had turned it off just on time.

"Skelly... please forgive me..." Ravi's voice was weak.

"Ravi... what have we done?" The fire in the background created a strange and ominous lighting on the two heroes.

"I-is it r-really you...?" Ravi managed to get out under his heavy breathing.

"I think it is..." Skelly said with a soft tone in his voice. "You know? Normally i would've loved to see a fire of this size. But not today."

Ravi looked up at Skelly and smiled.

  "What?" The Skeleton asked.

"It's you Skelly. I can hear it in your voice..."

Both the Jedi and The Fire Skeleton stared at each other for a moment and then laughed together. Skelly stopped suddenly as he noticed a ship approach them.

"Run!" Skelly yelled as he grabbed Ravi's shoulder and gestured towards the ship.

"I'm too weak Skell." Ravi shook his head and almost collapsed on the spot.

"You must. That is a Ragnarok's TIE Fighter! He's coming to collect you! He must've followed me." Skelly stood up and looked around. Trying to come up with an escape plan. He became desperate and saw movement in the trees. He smiled and turned back to Ravi.

"Here." He said as he picked up the saber and put it in Ravi's hands. "You are not going to like this, but don't worry. We will come for you."

"What are you talking abou-" Ravi couldn't finish his sentence and Skelly used the saber to cut his life support.

"Skelly!" Ravi yelled as the Skeleton began grasping for air and fell onto his knees.

"P-pretend it w-was you..." Skelly said and fainted.

Ravi looked at the ignited saber in his hand and heard the ship land behind him. Out came Ragnarok and laughed as he watched the wounded Ravi and fallen Fire Skeleton.

"Too bad. The Overlord liked him. At least he put up a good show."

"Raagh!!" Ravi tried to attack Ragnarok but Ragnarok used the force to push him to the ground knock him out cold.

"Good thing he exhausted you. He didn't give his life away for nothing." Ragnarok said and kicked Skelly's lifeless body. "But even you are no match for my master's enemy it seems."

Ragnarok picked up the unconscious Ravi and put him in his ship. He took off and Evangeline came running out of the woods watching the ship fly away in the moonlight.

She quickly got back to her senses after watching the man she loved get take away and ran to Skelly. She opened a bag she took with her and quickly managed to sloppily repair the tube of Skelly's life support.

"Please work, please work!" Evangeline began shaking the body slightly and the Skeleton made a noise.

"Skelly?" She leaned in closer to hear what he said.

  "T-th-thank y-you..."

Evangeline let out a sigh of relief and smiled. "You knew i followed him didn't you?"

"I-i s-saw you in the t-trees..." Skelly said and manged to smile a little bit at her.

"You went way to far you know." She tried to sound angry but just couldn't. "It's good to have back Skelly." She laid her hand on his cheek and smiled.

Ravi felt his arms and legs being cuffed. Ragnarok and Ayase dragged him across the hallways and Ravi managed to catch a glimpse of Natalie observing him. Later Cameron and Daniel crossed their arms as he past them and smiled wickedly.

Two large golden doors opened with a symbol on there that Ravi didn't recognize. He was dragged into the throne room and thrown on the ground.

He heard some one above him clapping slowly.

"What a spectacle it must have been. I wish was there to see it for myself. It was a good thing i had Ragnarok follow that damn corpse around." Ravi recognized Zoldius's cold voice.

He tried to lift his head but it had never felt so heavy.

"Is that how you treat all your friends?" Ravi heard the voice taunt him. He could faintly see Zoldius's boots.

"Friend vs. friend. The Jedi vs. the hunter. The spark and the inferno! The greatest gladiator match this timeline has ever seen."

Ravi manages to lift his head and sees Zoldius wearing royal clothes. A golden cloak hanging from his shoulders and black crown with the same symbol as the one on the door on it.

Zoldius stares back at him and smiles. "Time is not on your side Jedi."

To be continued...
